Nurturing Nature: PPVI Plants Trees in Naga, Cebu
The vibrant city of Naga in Cebu, which is known for its scenic landscapes and warm community spirit, witnessed a remarkable initiative led by Paramount Property Ventures Inc. (PPVI) that brought together a dedicated team of environmental enthusiasts for a tree planting activity.
Under the theme “Trees are Terrific… In All Shapes and Sizes!,” a group of 30 passionate employees from PPVI gathered in Sitio Pangilatan, Barangay Inayagan, Naga City with a shared mission – to plant trees and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for Naga.
The Importance of Tree Planting
Trees are essential to the ecological balance of our planet, playing a crucial role in maintaining a healthy environment. They act as natural carbon sinks, absorbing harmful greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, and releasing oxygen back into the atmosphere.
Additionally, trees help prevent soil erosion, purify the air we breathe, and provide habitats for diverse wildlife. In urban areas like Naga, trees also improve the quality of life for residents by reducing noise pollution and offering spaces for relaxation and recreation.
PPVI Vice President for Sales and Marketing Arli Cañedo said the choice of planting Narra seedlings holds deep significance. “The Narra tree, considered the national tree of the Philippines, symbolizes the indomitable spirit and strength of character of our people. By planting Narra trees, we symbolically sow the seeds of resilience and unity within our community,” she added.
Alongside Narra seedlings, PPVI employees also planted Fruit Bearing trees. By planting these saplings, they aimed to leave a lasting impact on the local ecosystem, furthering the cause of greenery sustainability and biodiversity preservation in Naga City.

The Tree Planting activity by the PPVI was also held in commemoration of International Arbor Day 2023 in Naga City, Cebu.
Run to Plant on Arbor Day 2023 is in celebration of Philippine Environment Month and was spearheaded by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (C-ENRO) under the leadership of City Administrator Engr. Arthur Villamor. The goal was to instill a deep appreciation for trees and foster a sense of responsibility in nurturing the environment.
